The Art of Listening in a New Land

Most travelers speak before they hear.
But in sacred spaces — temples, villages, family homes — it's the silence that teaches you. One of our favorite practices is this: when you arrive in a new place, don’t ask a question for 30 minutes. Just observe. Listen. Let the environment speak first.
Notice how elders greet each other. How tea is poured. What the wind carries.
When you listen deeply, you don't just hear words — you hear memory. That’s when the place begins to trust you back.
